I have a collaborative, practical, supportive, solution-focused style. I enjoy helping people develop the skills and strategies that will allow them to achieve their goals and feel better about themselves and their relationships. Together, we build on strengths, and focus on plans to help overcome obstacles. My interest in psychology goes back to my early years in New York City, where I had the opportunity to meet a variety of people and hear many fascinating life stories. Everyone has a unique story to tell. My professional training is in developmental, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches.
I worked at a family service agency and a university counseling center, where I focused on individual and couple's counseling. I also taught college classes in psychology. I joined Kaiser’s Outpatient Mental Health Department in 1992.and worked there for 19 years. I started out as a generalist, working with adults, children, and families and then became a member of the adult treatment team I enjoy assisting people who have a variety of concerns, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and stressful life events.
