My Psychotherapy Practice
I have an empathic, collaborative, and solution-focused style. My goal is to help people gain confidence and skills toward improved well-being and pursuit of their personal goals. My professional training is in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches.
I am pleased to be an associate of the Alhambra Valley Counseling Center, since 2008. I work primary with adults and couples, providing support, feedback, and treatment for a variety of concerns including life transitions, depression, anxiety, and relationship problems.

My Background & Training
I first began my training in the late ‘70s, when I moved to California, from the East Coast (where I had lived in Maryland and Pennsylvania). I obtained my MFCC license in 1986; my Psychologist’s license in 1991. In the course of my training and career, I have worked in inpatient and outpatient departments in both medical facilities and community mental health programs. I worked in the Mental Health Department of a large HMO in the Bay area for nearly 20 years before moving into private practice exclusively.
Outside interests that help me stay healthy, include: hiking, swimming, kayaking, skiing, camping, travel, and photography.
